Bolton, MA

After a long illness, Linda “Lindy” Gay Lewandowski, passed away on April 26, 2016 in Worcester, MA at the age of 57.
She leaves behind her loving husband, Mark Lewandowski of Bolton, MA, her parents, Roger and Jeanne (Courtemanche) Gay of Stow, MA, her sister Elisabeth Drury and her husband Jay of Maynard, MA, her brother Christopher E. Gay and his partner Tracey Lyon of Ayer, MA, beloved nephews Timothy and Zachary Gay both of Hudson, MA and their mother Maureen Clancy of Milford, MA. Lindy is also survived by her aunt, Lois B Gay of Hudson, MA, uncles Charles Courtemanche of Port Charlotte, FL and his wife Cheri, and Lee Courtemanche of Marietta, GA and his wife Gloria. Lindy was blessed with close cousins, Kate Seaber of Hillsborough, NC, Michelle Hebert of West Newbury, MA, John Whittle of Chatham, MA, C. Parker Whittle of Seven Fields, PA, Mary Keane of Naperville, IL, Lisa Smith, Renee Lake, and Nicolle VanBruinisse all of Marietta, GA, Dan Courtemanche of New York City, NY, and Ben Ellis of Fayetteville, AR. Lindy was also Godmother to her nephew Timmy, Anastasia Sullivan of Chicago, IL and Natalia Sullivan of East Providence, RI.
Also Lindy was predeceased by Claire Whittle of Chatham, MA and Anne Courtemanche-Ellis of Pelsor, AR, and Frank M. Gay of Hudson, MA.
Lindy was born in Boston and attended school in Stow and Maynard. She attended and graduated from Maynard High School in 1976 where she was Junior Class President, and also active in the Young Maynardians choral group, the Band, and participated in various theatrical productions. She attended Albertus Magnus College in New Haven, CT where she met many lifelong friends and graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Communications in 1980. Lindy also took graduate courses at UConn.
She began her professional career at Digital Equipment Corporation at corporate headquarters at the Mill in Maynard and progressed through various roles within DEC. Her career took her through various project and client management roles at several technology companies. Most recently she worked at Worcester Polytechnic Institute where she was a Director of Professional Development for WPI’s corporate development group.
Lindy possessed a lifelong love of the arts and travel. Gardening and painting with watercolors were among her favorite activities. She was also a passionate dog lover and doted on her five dogs.
The family is planning a private funeral Mass for Lindy with a Celebration of her Life where all are welcome this Saturday, April 30th at The International, 159 Ballville Rd, Bolton, MA. Friends are encouraged to gather at 12:30 with the Celebration Service beginning at 1 PM. In lieu of flowers, the family requests a donation to the Virginia Thurston Healing Garden (www.healinggarden.net) or the International Thyroid Oncology Group (www.itog.org/donation ).
