Marion Ward Withers Sept. 28, 1927 to April 24, 2016 ANDERSON--Marion Ward Withers, 88, of Anderson died Sunday, April 24, 2016 at his residence. He was born September 28, 1927 to Calvin R. and Birdie (Fickes) Withers in Anderson. He graduated from Anderson High School, Indiana University and I. U. School of Law in 1958. He served in the United States Army. He was Madison County attorney and was instrumental in the construction of the current Madison County Government Center. He was one of the founders of the Dolphin Club and attended Park Place Church of God. He enjoyed gardening, traveling, boating, history, football and story telling. He is survived by his wife, Barbara K. (Jordan) Withers of Anderson, five daughters, Letitia "Gene" Withers McNamara (husband Craig) of Montgomery, AL; Julia Withers Washburn (husband Tim), of Anderson, Elizabeth "Libby" Withers of Maumee, OH; Lydia Withers Hains (husband Bruce) of Anderson; Marion "Jackie" Withers Koehler (husband Keith) of Grand Rapids, MI; stepson, Jeffrey Meadows of Anderson; seven grandchildren, Kate (Justin) Smoker; Andrew McNamara; Lillian Washburn; William Washburn; Anthony "Tony" Smith; Claire Koehler and Jacob Koehler; six great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, his grandsons, Thomas Smith and Alex Koehler, sister, Frances Withers Stiers, brother, Lawrence Withers and his first wife, Lillian Withers. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. on Friday at Park Place Church of God with Dr. David Markle officiating. Burial will follow at East Maplewood Cemetery Visitation will be held from noon until 2 p.m. Friday at the church. Funeral arrangements are being handled by Rozelle-Johnson Funeral Service.
