Ernest William Kirschke, Jr. age 76 of Round Top passed away on April 26, 2016 at his home. Ernest was born on July 28, 1939 in Houston to Ernest William Kirschke and Helen Mary Quandt. He served his country in the United States Air Force. He was a retired Houston Police Officer, a member of the Fayetteville Lions Club, SPJST and the Shelby American Legion. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, doing puzzles and woodworking. He is survived by two sons; Michael Allen Kirschke and wife Cindy and David Patrick Kirschke and wife Lori; one daughter, Katherine Marie Bush and husband Glenn; five grandchildren, Will and Emma Kirschke, Matthew and Jonathan Kirschke and Amanda Bush; one sister, Irene Jones and husband Richard; godson, Kenneth Robertson and wife Melissa and their children, Ashley and Malia. Ernest was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Edward. Visitation is scheduled for Sunday May 1, 2016, from 12:00 PM until 7:00 PM at Fayette Memorial Funeral Home in La Grange. The family will receive visitors from 3:00 PM until 7:00 PM. Funeral services are scheduled for Monday May 2, 2016 at 10:00 AM at Fayette Memorial Funeral Home Chapel in La Grange. Interment will follow at the Houston Veterans Cemetery on Tuesday May 3, 2016 at 9:30 AM. Memorial contributions may be made to the Shelby American Legion.
