Alice Godin, 94, of North Smithfield died Monday April 18, 2016 at St. Antoine Residence. She was the loving wife of the late Ovide “Johnny” Godin.
Born and raised in Woonsocket she was a daughter of the late Altuteur and Marie Rose (Mondou) Parenteau. She was a resident of Woonsocket and North Smithfield and also lived in Ft. Lauderdale, FL for several years.
Alice was employed at Bonin Spinning and later at Reliance Plastics in Woonsocket before retiring.
Alice was an avid golfer and tennis player and enjoyed crocheting, playing cards and bingo. She was a member of the St. Joseph and St. Agatha senior citizens groups and loved being involved in family activities.
She is survived by her sister Jeanne Wall of North Smithfield and many nieces and nephews and their families. She was the sister of the late George Henri, Gerard, Bruno, Philippe, Raymond and Paul Parenteau.
Her Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday April 30 at 11:00am in St. Antoine Chapel, 10 Rhodes Ave. North Smithfield. Burial in Precious Blood Cemetery will be private. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to St. Antoine Residence Activities Dept. 10 Rhodes Ave. North Smithfield, RI. 02896. Arrangements are by the Menard-Lacouture Funeral Home, 127 Carrington Ae. Woonsocket.
