Rodney Dewayne Young, 42, of Tifton passed away Monday, April 25, 2016, at Tift Regional Medical Center. His funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, April 29, 2016, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals with the Rev. Terrell Roberts officiating. Mr. Young will be laid to rest at a later date. The family will receive friends Friday, April 29, 2016, from 10:00 a.m. until the hour of the service in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.
Born March 5, 1974 in Austell, Mr. Young was the son of William Leroy Jackson and Doris Jean Young Jackson of Linden, North Carolina. He was self-employed in telephone and computer repairs. He was an honor graduate at Apopka, Florida High School and attended ABAC and the University of Florida. He also served in the National Guard. He enjoyed photography and playing guitar.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Young is survived by his fiancé, Megan Veal of Tifton; two sons, Liam Young and Brayden Young, both of Tifton and a child on the way; a daughter, Mary Young of Ohio; three brothers and a sister-in-law, Tim Jackson of Atlanta, Stephen Jackson of Fayetteville, North Carolina and Mike and Trisha Attebery of Leesburg; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Kimberly and Wayman Hair of Linden, North Carolina and Kristina Broumley-Strickland and husband Bobby of Sherman, Texas; a very special aunt, Diane Cowden of Tifton; and a special uncle, Charles Young of Atlanta.
