Leo P. Nichols, 93, died Tuesday, July 5, 2005, in Holy Trinity Nursing Home. His wife of many years, Mary L. (Benach) died in 1991. He leaves 2 sons and daughters-in-law, Ted and Marsha Nichols of Whitinsville and George and Claire Nichols of So. Weymouth; a daughter, Helen Amirsakis of Quincy; and 2 granddaughters, Krista Nichols and Mary Petrillo. He was predeceased by 2 brothers and 2 sisters.
Leo owned and operated Steve’s Spa on Belmont Street for many years and was a cook at the former Lincoln Nursing Home. He was a Navy veteran of WWII, a member of St. Spyridon Greek Orthodox Cathedral and the American Legion George R. Menichios Post, No. 324, Boston. Leo was an avid gardener.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, July 8, at Nordgren Memorial Chapel, 300 Lincoln Street. Burial will be in Hope Cemetery. Calling hours will be held from 5-8 p.m., Thursday, July 7, at Nordgren Memorial Chapel. A Trisagion Service will be held during calling hours.
