Loving wife and mother
CHELMSFORD: Eve Mary (DeCarolis) Barnes, age 56, a resident of Chelmsford for 16 years, formerly of Tewksbury, passed away at home on Friday, April 22, 2016.
She was the beloved wife of George H. Barnes, Jr. with whom she would have celebrated their 30th wedding anniversary on November 14, 2016.
Born in Lowell on August 9, 1959, she was the daughter of Armando J. DeCarolis of Tewksbury and the late Joyce A. (Anderson) DeCarolis.
Eve was raised in Tewksbury and attended Tewksbury schools. In 1979, she graduated from Notre Dame Academy in Tyngsboro. Following high school, she attended Northern Essex Community College in Haverhill.
For the past 20 years, she owned and managed the Tewksbury Self Storage Company.
Eve enjoyed traveling with her husband especially to Italy, Greece, Switzerland, and Florida. In addition, she was an avid golfer, loved riding motorcycles with her husband, and also loved fishing.
Eve was known by all to be caring, selfless, and always a listening ear. Her family was her number one priority and she will be deeply missed.
Besides her husband and father, she is survived by two children, George A. Barnes and Amanda L. Barnes both of Chelmsford; two sisters, Lynne A. Scannell and her husband Philip, and Sue M. DeCarolis all of Gloucester; also many aunts, uncles, cousins including Stefanie Acierno of Brookline, nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.
Eve was the daughter-in-law of the late George H. Barnes and Elisa M. (D’Amelio) Barnes.
Calling hours are Wednesday, April 27, from 4-8 p.m., at the Farmer & Dee Funeral Home, 16 Lee St., Tewksbury. Her funeral will be held Thursday, April 28, at 9 a.m. from the funeral home, followed by her Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. at St. William’s Church, 1351 Main St., Rte. 38, Tewksbury. Interment at Tewksbury Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, 10 Brookline Place West, 6th Floor, Brookline, MA 02445.
