TAUNTON – John Fontes, son of the late Manuel and Mary (Lopes) Fontes, died at Marian Manor on April 22, 2016.
He was 81.
Born in Taunton, he was educated in Taunton schools and was a lifelong resident of the area.
John was a self-employed floor layer for many years.
He retired many years ago.
A kind and generous man, John enjoyed hanging out at Goldstein’s and playing the lottery.
He especially loved spending time with his family.
Surviors include a daughter, Sasha Fontes of Taunton; a sister, Margaret "Nina" Rose of Taunton; a granddaughter, Rana Fontes; and several nieces and nephews.
He was also the twin brother of the late James “Jimmy” Fontes, and the brother of the late Sonny Manuel Fontes and Louise Montrond.
Graveside Services will be held at Mayflower Hill Cemetery, Taunton on Friday, April 29th at 10 a.m.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
John’s family would like to thank the staff of Marian Manor for the excellent and compassionate care.
