WILBRAHAM – Rita R. (Denoncourt) Archambault, 92, a former longtime resident of Wilbraham, was Called Safely Home on Saturday, April 23, 2016. She passed into Eternal Life at the Jewish Geriatric Services Lifecare in Longmeadow surrounded by the care and comfort of her loving family and her wonderful caregivers. She was born at home in Chicopee on March 10, 1924, a beloved daughter of the late Henri and Lena (Fredette) Denoncourt. She was raised in Chicopee and attended local schools. She later lived on Greenwich Street in the North End section of Springfield before moving to Wilbraham in 1957. She was a communicant of Saint Cecilia Church in Wilbraham. Rita was a wonderful seamstress and made clothing for her family and her many friends. During her leisure time, she enjoyed bowling. Most of all, she was a wonderful homemaker to her family and showered them with her love and affection which was returned to her a thousand fold. She was predeceased by her beloved husband and best friend, Vic Archambault who was Called Home on March 1, 2005. They were married on September 12, 1942 at Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church in Chicopee and were blessed with over 62 years of happiness together. She leaves her three loving daughters, Bernice Archambault and her partner, Donna Hopkinson, of North Attleboro, MA, Anne Proctor and her husband, Craig, of Suffield and Ruth Ramah and her husband, Bud, of Southwick; her eight cherished grandchildren, Michelle Turner and her husband, James, Craig Deblois, Lisa Frade and her husband, Joe, Ben Proctor and his wife, Katherine, Kasey Brisson and her husband, Dustin, Megan Duggan and her husband, Ed, Allison Surette and her husband, Tom, and Rob King; her seven cherished great-grandchildren, Justin Hubach, Dean Deblois, Joey Frade, Danny Frade, Nathaniel Proctor, Charlie Surette and Grace Surette; her two cherished great-great grandsons, Everett Hubach and Dean Deblois; her dear sister, Lucy Page and her husband, Tom, of Chicopee; her two dear sisters-in-law, Jeannette Denoncourt and Shirley Denoncourt; and her many dear nephews, nieces, cousins, friends, and extended members of the Archambault and Denoncourt families. Besides her parents and husband, she was also predeceased by her six dear brothers, Armand, Roland, Rene, George, Leo and Raymond Denoncourt; and her dear sister, Florence Lagasse. Her family wishes to offer their special gratitude to all her loving caregivers, “Our Angels” at the Jewish Geriatric Life Care Center and Home Instead Senior Care. Her relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Friday morning, April 29, 2016 at 10 a.m. at Saint Anthony Maronite Catholic Church, 375 Island Pond Road, Springfield, MA 01118. Her Committal Service will be private for her family at the Massachusetts Veterans’ Memorial Cemetery, 1390 Main Street, Agawam, MA 01001. There are no visiting hours at the St. Pierre – Phaneuf Springfield Chapels, (413-737-1177), 7 Chapin Terrace, Springfield, MA 01107.
