Obituary

Mr. Charles E. Lewis, of Taunton, died Thursday, April 21 in St. Elizabeth’s Medical Center, Brighton, following a brief illness. He was the beloved husband of Ruth (MacKenzie) Lewis. He was born 67 years ago in Falls of Rough, Kentucky, the son of Virginia Midkiff and the late Henry P. Lewis. He was educated in Kentucky and was a graduate of Stonehill College in Easton, Ma. Prior to his retirement, Charles had been employed as a truck driver for ABF Freight in West Bridgewater for over 20 years. He was a member of Local 653 International Brotherhood of Teamsters. He was a U.S. Army veteran, having served during the Vietnam Era. He enjoyed video games, his computer, and playing the lottery. In addition to his wife, of Taunton, and his mother, of Kentucky, he leaves: 1 daughter: Rhonda Salvatori of Taunton; 1 brother: Jimmy Lewis of Kentucky; 2 sisters: Mary Jane Nelson and her husband, James of Kentucky and Patsy Clemons and her husband, Danny of Kentucky; 2 grandchildren: Nicholas and Katelyn Salvatori, both of Taunton, and several nieces and nephews. Charles was also the father-in-law of the late Robert Salvatori. A Funeral Procession will begin at The Riendeau-Mulvey Funeral Home, 467 Bay Street, on Wednesday, April 27 at 10:00 A.M. Interment will be in Mayflower Hill Cemetery at 11:00 A.M. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visiting Hours will be held on Tuesday, from 5:00 to 8:00 P.M.
