Joyce M. Dion, 63

Joyce M. (Rondeau) Dion, age 63, a lifelong resident of Mansfield passed away on Friday, April 22, 2016 at the Sturdy Memorial Hospital in Attleboro.
She was the beloved wife of the late Roland N. “Pokey” Dion, to whom she was wed for 37 years at the time of his death on December 15, 2006.
Born in Waltham, MA on June 12, 1952, she was a loving daughter of the late Joseph O. Rondeau. She grew up in Mansfield and was a graduate of Mansfield High School.
Joyce was a bartender and had most recently been employed at the Dynasty Restaurant in Plainville. She had formerly worked for many years at the Yang Chin Restaurant in North Attleboro and previously for 26 years at the former Kai Lua Restaurant, also in North Attleboro.
A communicant of St. Mary’s Church in Mansfield, Joyce was also a member of the North Attleboro Lodge of Elks.
Her favorite times by far, were those in the presence of her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and her lifelong best friend Leslie Tracey.
Joyce also loved gardening, times spent at the beach in Dennisport and she was always a loyal New England sports fan.
She is survived by her devoted sons Kevin J. Dion and his wife Annette of Mansfield and Greg M. Dion and his fiancé Leeanne Gourley of Mansfield. She was the cherished grandmother of Jessica Haggerty and her fiancé Brian Floyd of Newton, and Brianna Dion, Madalyn Dion, Jacob Gourley, Lucas Gourley and Katelyn Dion all of Mansfield. She was the adoring great grandmother of Ryker Floyd and Ryha Floyd, and is also survived by her loving in-laws and their family’s.
Her funeral Mass, to which relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend, will be celebrated on Wednesday, April 27th at 10:00 A.M. in St. Mary’s Church, 330 Pratt St. (Route 106), Mansfield. Burial will be at a later date at St. Stephen’s Cemetery in Attleboro.
Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday, April 26th from 5:00-8:00 P.M. at the Norton Memorial Funeral Home, 19 Clapp St. (Off Route 140, Taunton Ave.) Norton.
