Gertrude Rondeau, 102, formerly of Woonsocket died Monday April 18, 2016 at the Overlook Nursing Home in Pascoag. She was the wife of the late Edmond D. Rondeau who passed away in 1976.
Born in Sorel P.Q. Canada she was the daughter of the late Adelard and Malvina (Larochelle) Mandeville. She lived in Woonsocket for most of her life and also resided in Canada in her early years.
Mrs. Rondeau was a communicant of Precious Blood Parish and enjoyed playing bingo. Gertrude will be remembered as a loving wife and mother and cherished her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She is survived by her daughter-in-law Jeannine C. Rondeau of Woonsocket and her three grandchildren Jocelyn Champagne, Marc Rondeau and Daniel Rondeau, 7 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-granddaughter. She was the mother of the late Maurice O. Rondeau who passed away on August 10, 2013. She was the sister of the late Brother Eugene Mandeville, Irene Desavageau and Leontine Mandeville.
Her Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday at 10:00 am in Precious Blood Church, Carrington Ave. Woonsocket. Burial in St. Jean Baptiste Cemetery, Bellingham will be private. Visiting hours are Monday morning from 8:30-9:30 am, prior to Mass, in the Menard-Lacouture Funeral Home, 127 Carrington Ave. Woonsocket.
