Leo J. Tellier, Sr., 86, of Woonsocket died Wednesday at home. He was the husband of the late Pauline (Rouette) Tellier who passed away in 1986.
Born and raised in Woonsocket he was a son of the late Adelard Sr. and Marie (Pontbriand) Tellier.
Mr. Teller was employed at Bonte Spinning and Hyman Brickell Inc. He later worked for CVS before retiring in 1992.
Leo enjoyed playing cards and was a well-versed reader. He especially enjoyed family gatherings. Leo will be remembered as a loving husband, father and grandfather.
He is survived by two daughters Jean M. Champagne of Woonsocket and Paulette Bruck and her husband, Ronald, of Cumberland. He was the father of the late Leo J. Tellier Jr. who passed away in 2009. He was the father-in- law of Kathleen Tellier of TN. He was the brother of the late Adelard Tellier, Jr., Ralph Tellier, Rita Desilets, Blanche Lafleur, Lucienne Delorme, Exillia Henault and Jeannette Dacy. He is also survived by 6 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews and their families. He was the grandfather of the late Rebekah Bruck who passed away in 2015.
His funeral will be Tuesday at 9:30 am from the Menard-Lacouture Funeral Home, 127 Carrington Ave. Woonsocket followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 am in Sacred Heart Church, Second Ave. Woonsocket. Burial will follow in St. Jean Baptiste Cemetery, Bellingham. Visiting hours are Monday from 4-7 pm.
