Pat walked thru the Valley of the Shadow of Death on April 21, 2016. But She feared no Evil, for God was with her, his rod and staff comforted her, and Jesus was waiting with open arms to welcome her to her new home. Pat has been a servant of the Lord since a teenager, and was serving at Hikes Point Christian Church.She and her Husband were charter members of the church, and Jesus Christ was at the center of their marriage for 60 years. Pat was born July 31, 1937 in Edmonson County, but grew up in Louisville. Our loss is Gain for the Lord Jesus Christ. Pat worked at the old "Joy Shop" in Downtown Louisville, as a retail clerk for womens clothing during high school. Pat was a graduate of Shawnee High School, class of 1955. Then she worked at the old "Louisville Transit Co. " now known as Tarc, until the birth of her twin daughters in 1957. She was a stay at home mom, and a volunteer in the PTA and other activities the girls participated in. She was a volunteer at Norton Audubon Hospital for several years. She is survived by her husband Joe Porritt, daughters: Denise Valente and Debra Gahan, grandchildren; Kimberly Morales, Josh Benningfield,and Brett Gahan, great-grandchildren; Alex, Anthony, Caroline, and Casey, and her sister Barbara O'Bryan. Visitation will be Monday April 25 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Owen Funeral Home Jeffersontown 9318 Taylorsville Rd.
