TAUNTON – Dorothy Louise (Amaral) Burdock, wife of the late Edward J. Burdock, died at the Taunton Nursing Home on April 20, 2016.
She was 88.
Born in Dighton, she was the daughter of the late Manuel P. and Mary (White) Amaral.
Dorothy was a 1947 graduate of the former Dighton High School.
She was employed by Golden Living Center-Wedgemere for many years as a certified nurse’s aide and also worked in private homes.
A communicant of St. Mary’s Church, she was a past president of the North Taunton Seniors and former member of the V.F.W. Post 611 Auxiliary.
Dorothy loved children and enjoyed entertaining and will be missed by many friends.
Survivors include her daughter, Debra Burdock of East Taunton; two grandchildren; two nieces; and her special friend, Stephanie Amaral of Taunton.
She was also the sister to the late Albert Amaral.
Funeral Services will be held at the Silva Funeral Home, 80 Broadway, Taunton on Monday, April 25th at 12:30 p.m.
Burial will follow at St. Patrick Cemetery in Somerset.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
The family will be receiving visitors at the funeral home from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. prior to the services.
