Antonio Barbosa Navarro, 94, of Ventura, passed away on Thursday, April 21, 2016. Tony was born May 14, 1921 in Lompoc, California and was a Ventura County resident for the past 65 years.
During World War II he served in the U.S. Army from 1943 to 1945 as an engineer in the South Pacific. He was co-owner of Navarro Farms and Trucking for 65 years. Tony loved working in his garden and then taking the produce to his family and friends. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.
Tony is survived by his children Tony Navarro (and his wife Geri) of Ventura, Raymond Navarro of Ventura, and Angelina Guerrero of Ventura; his grandchildren Irene, Freddy, David, Eileen, Lorraine, Tony, and Rebecca; 13 great grandchildren; and one great great grandson. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife Angelina, and his brothers and sisters Louie Centeno, Henry Centeno, Simon Centeno, Remedios Centeno Lara, Manuel Centeno, Lawrence Centeno, Connie Navarro Ramirez, Frances Navarro, Josephine Navarro, Andrew Navarro, and Larry Navarro.
Rosary will be recited at 7:00 P.M. Thursday, April 28, 2016 at the Joseph P. Reardon Funeral Home , Ventura. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9:00 A.M. Friday, April 29, 2016 at Our Lady of the Assumption Catholic Church, Ventura. Burial will follow at Santa Clara Cemetery, Oxnard.
Family and friends may visit from 4:00 to 8:00 P.M. on Thursday at the Joseph P. Reardon Funeral home & Cremation Service, 757 East Main Street, Ventura.
