Helen T. Luszcz, 95 of Manville formerly of Franklin, died April 21 in Landmark Medical Center in Woonsocket. She was the wife of the late Leon J. Luszcz who died in 2004.
Born in Worcester, May 31, 1920, the daughter of the late Vincent and Mary (Borch) Marzewski, Mrs. Luszcz moved to Poland with her parents at the age of one. She returned to America in 1938 and settled in Franklin a year later and finally moving to Rhode Island in 2005.
Helen had been a textile worker at several area factories.
Helen was a devoted mother and passionate homemaker. She was a resourceful woman and could make something from nothing. Her skills turned the family house into a home.
She is survived by her children, Leon Luszcz, Jr. and his wife Lynn of Clemson, South Carolina, Cynthia Gaffney and her husband Brian of Colorado and Karen Ober and her husband Dale of North Smithfield, Rhode Island.
She is also survived by her grandchildren, Mark Gaffney, Renya Haynes, Zachary Luszcz, Ryan Ober and Jennifer Ober.
She is also survived by her great-grandchildren, Michael, Matthew, John and Reeves and her niece Helen Brien of North Smithfield.
Her funeral service will be held on Monday, April 25 in the Ginley Funeral Home of Franklin (www.ginleyfuneralhomes.com ) 131 Main Street, Franklin at Noon.
Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Franklin.
Visitation will be on Monday from 11:00 –Noon.
