Sheila Rose Emerson, age 88 of Prosser, entered into rest on April 19, 2016 at Prosser Memorial Hospital. She was born on November 18, 1927 to Harry and Mildred (Kelley) Scrimsher in Seattle, Washington. She was raised and educated in Prosser and graduated with the class of 1946. At the age of 23, Sheila and Eugene Emerson were married on August 12. The couple made their home in White Center, Washington before moving to Black Diamond, Washington where she lived for more than forty years.
Sheila was an Avon representative, president of the local library board and a member of Trinity Lutheran Church. She was active in Lutheran World Relief by making mission quilts. She enjoyed gardening, canning and baking. Most of all she loved being a homemaker and taking care of her family. Sheila was a pioneer woman, very independent, and considered herself a farmer. She loved Prosser and, five years ago, came back to where she considered home.
Sheila is survived by her son, Darren Emerson & wife Julie of Tacoma; her granddaughters, Cassie Anne and Theresa Rose; two great grandchildren; her sisters, Lavene Alvardo and husband, Rudy of Puyallup, Nancy Marrs of Yakima, and Janice Kline of Prosser; her brother, Gary Schrimsher and wife, Peggy of Kennewick; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Eugene in 2007; her son Charles; her grandson, Jacob; and two brothers, Ronald and Fredrick.
