Evelyn T. (Morency) LeBlanc, 90, of Salem, passed away peacefully at the Pilgrim Rehabilitation & Skilled Nursing Center in Peabody following a brief illness. She was the devoted wife of the late Robert L. LeBlanc with whom she had shared 52 years of marriage.
Born and raised in Salem, she was the daughter of the late Leo J. and Dorilla (Genderon) Morency. A graduate of St. Joseph Academy, she first worked for the Commonwealth of Mass. Unemployment Office. Following her marriage to Bob in 1946 she left her state job to devote her time for the caring of her family. Evelyn later worked as a bus driver at Michaud Bus Lines of Salem and as a prepared food demonstrator for BJ’s in Danvers where she retired from the company at the age of eighty.
Evelyn loved her family and took a special pride in her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She enjoyed traveling and any time spent with her family and friends, especially in Disney World. She was a former member of the AMVETS Auxiliary and member of the former St. Joseph Parish of Salem.
She is survived by her two sons, Robert J. LeBlanc and his wife Diane of Georgetown, David A. LeBlanc and his wife Anne of Rowley, five grandchildren, Robert J. LeBlanc, Jenee LeBlanc, Aimee Klee and her husband Andrew, Karen Field and her husband Timothy and Andrew LeBlanc. She also leaves six great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brothers, Robert and Eugene Morency.
Relatives and friends are invited to her visiting hours on Sunday, April 24, 2016, from 3:00 to 7:00 P.M., at the Levesque Funeral Home, 163 Lafayette St. [Route 114 / 1-A] Salem. Her funeral mass will be on Monday at 10:00 A.M., in Ste. Anne Church, 290 Jefferson Ave., Salem. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Salem.
