T. Doreen “Rene” (Shannon) Freeman, 81, of Medway died April 20 at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was the wife of the late Lowell W. Freeman who died in January.
Born in Boston, July 4, 1934, the daughter of the late Norman and Helen (Evers) Shannon, Mrs. Freeman was raised in Watertown and had lived in Medway since 1962.
Doreen had worked as a supervisor of accounts payable for the Staples Company and Sun Life Insurance Company.
She had been a member of the Catholic Daughters of St. Joseph and loved to travel, cook and spend time at her vacation home in New Brunswick, Canada.
Above all she enjoyed the time she spent with her family.
Doreen is survived by her children, Paula Bonina and her husband John of Bellingham, John Freeman of Medway, Patti Freeman of Medway and Laura Stephansky of Franklin.
She is also survived by her sister Norma Tuckwood of Falmouth and was the sister of the late Edward Shannon and Mary Larkin.
Doreen is also survived by her grandchildren, Brett and Bryan Bonina, Alycia Ostreicher, Shaun, Shannon and Ryan Smith and Jessica and Sara Stephansky and seven great-grandchildren.
Her funeral will be held on Monday, April 25 from the Ginley Crowley Funeral Home (www.ginleyfuneralhomes.com) 3 Barber Street, Medway at 9:15 followed by a funeral mass in St. Joseph’s Church at 10:00
Burial will be in the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne at 1:45 p.m. on Monday.
Calling hours will be on Sunday from 5-7 p.m.
