Gladys M. (Melzar) Mark, 77, died Sunday, July 3 at the Brockton Hospital after a period of failing health. She was the wife of Walter H. Mark. Born in Boston, she was raised in Uphams Corner and a graduate of Dorchester Schools. Mrs. Mark was a longtime resident of Stoughton. She was an active member of the Trinity Episcopal Church and the Order of the Eastern Star Chapter 168, both in Stoughton. She enjoyed crocheting and was an avid Beano player at the Temple Beth Emunah in Brockton for many years.
In addition to her husband Walter, she is survived by her 7 children; Gladys Joyal of Taunton, Ginnie Teed of Raynham, Patricia Robinson of Carver, Dan Mark of Easton, Laura Hrasok of NH, Bonnie Hickey and Walter Mark Jr. both of Stoughton. She was the sister the late George Bombard and Virginia Danforth and is also survived by 9 grandchildren and 3 greatgrandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held in the Trinity Episcopal Church, 414 Sumner St, Stoughton on Friday at 11 AM. Visiting hours will be held in the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St. (Rt. 27) Stoughton on Thursday from 4-8 PM. Burial will follow at Knollwood Memorial Park, Canton.
