Obituary

West Lebanon-----Janice (Marjerison) Lacey, 87, of 69 Lily Lane, West Lebanon, NH, died on Thursday, April 14, 2016 at the Belknap County Nursing Home in Laconia, NH.

Jan was born on November 6, 1928, in Boston, MA, the daughter of Howard and Beatrice (Temple) Marjerison. In addition to raising a family of four children, she worked as an Occupational Therapist and as a nursing home activities director for many years. Together with her husband Bill, she was the author of a self-published book, The Games Older People Play, which was utilized in hundreds of nursing homes throughout the U. S.

Jan enjoyed arts and crafts, painting and rug hooking, singing in church choirs, and playing bocce, cribbage, and cards with family and friends.She also loved volunteering at the Shaker Museum in Enfield, NH. Meals on Wheels, and at church. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, who loved spending time with her family whenever a gathering could be organized, but especially on her beloved Cape Cod.

Jan is survived by 4 sons; Frederick William Lacey III and his wife Anne, of Lake City, FL., the Rev. Thomas Getchell-Lacey and his wife Wendy, of Gilford, NH, Kenneth Laceyand his wife, Aida, of Lake City, FL., and Peter Lacey and his wife Mary Ann Gundersen, of Sunderland, MA; thirteen grandchildren—Clifford, Pamela, Gerrald, Marsha, Marjorie, Emily, Daniel, Bennett, Samuel, John, Charles, Ian, and Colin; as well as many grandchildren in law, great-grandchildren, nephews, and nieces. In addition to her parents, Jan was predeceased by her husband of 55 years, Frederick William (Bill) Lacey, Jr., who died on September 5, 2008;her brother, Mitchell Marjerison; and by her sister, Barbara Drew.

A Memorial Service celebrating Jan’s life will be held on Saturday, May 7, 2016 at 10:30 AM at the West Lebanon Congregational Church, 18 Maple St., West Lebanon, NH.

The burial will take place at a future date.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to the Enfield Shaker Museum, 447 NH Rte. 4A, Enfield NH 03748 or to the West Lebanon Congregational Church, 18 Maple Street, West Lebanon, NH 03784 both in memory of Janice Lacey.
