Obituary

Augusta, GA. Frances Barinowski O'Neill , 87, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend, peacefully entered the presence of her Savior on April 19, 2016 at her home.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, April 23, at 11:45 AM at Martinez Bible Chapel on Columbia Road. The family will receive friends at the church prior to the service from 10:15 - 11:45 AM.

Frances was a native of Augusta and spent most of her life there before moving to Lincolnton, GA in 1995. She moved to Evans, GA in 2010 where she spent the remainder of her life. She was a faithful and loving wife for over 60 years to Bernie O'Neill, who preceded her in death in 2007. During her lifetime she was actively involved at Bethany Chapel and Believers Gospel Chapel, both in Augusta, and Lakeside Bible Chapel in Lincolnton where she served as a Bible Teacher and mentor to women, teenage girls and children. She and Bernie had the gift of hospitality, freely opening their home to extended family, friends, missionaries, visiting speakers, college students, and more youth group meetings than can be numbered. Another ministry very dear to her heart was Camp Hope, where she and Bernie served as registrar and counselor for over 40 years. There is no way to estimate the number of lives that were influenced directly through the life of this godly woman.

Mrs. O’Neill is survived by her sons, Alex O’Neill (Julie) of Lincolnton, GA, Barry O’Neill (Leslie) of Evans, Frank O’Neill (Nina) of Washington, DC, and Bob O’Neill (Carol) of Lincolnton, GA; her daughter, Harriet Brown (Charlie) of Tucker, GA; her brothers, Emil Barinowski (Martha) of Banner Elk, NC, Clarence Barinowski (Sylvia) of Grovetown, Gene Barinowski (Joyce) of North Augusta, and John Barinowski of Atlanta; her 19 grandchildren, Trent O’Neill (Ann), Kendra Finch (Charlie), DeAnna Tock (Chris), Garrett O’Neill (LeAnn), Nicole Hyatt, Jeana Aycock (Steed), Gavin Hyatt (Karen), Kellen Smith (Evan), Aldan O’Neill, Nathan O’Neill (Liz), Brian O’Neill (Katy), Hardi Morris (Joseph), Seth Brown (Emily), Carlan Brown, Brady O’Neill (Tiana), Kevin O’Neill (Caroline), Lee O’Neill, Brandon O’Neill, and Ryan O’Neill; and by her 19 great-grandchildren.
