RAYNHAM – Nancy (Aranjo) Arruda, wife of Robert Arruda for the past 55 years, died at her Raynham home on April 18, 2016.
She was 72.
Born in Tewksbury, she was the daughter of the late John and Julia Aranjo. Raised and educated in Taunton, Nancy was employed as a bartender in local restaurants for many years, last being the Elks Lodge #150, where she became the first female member.
A communicant of Raynham’s St. Ann Church, Nancy enjoyed bingo and poker. In addition to her husband, she leaves her son, Russell Arruda of Pawtucket, RI; her daughter, Laurie Teixeira of East Taunton; her grandson, Ryan Teixeira of Raynham; and many nieces and nephews.
She was also the mother of the late Robert “Rudy” Arruda, Jr.
Calling hours will be held at the Silva Funeral Home, 80 Broadway, Taunton on Sunday, April 24th from 3 to 6 p.m.
Her funeral will be held from the funeral home on Monday, April 25th at 9 a.m. followed by her funeral mass at St. Ann Church, Raynham at 10 a.m. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery, Taunton.
