Obituary

Margaret “Peggy” Duggan, 79, died peacefully April 17, 2016. The daughter of the late Thomas and Kathleen Folan, Peggy is survived by her loving and devoted husband, Wilfred, to whom she was married for 57 years. Peggy was born on April 4, 1937 in Norwood, Massachusetts. Peggy is also survived by her children: Christopher Duggan and his wife Lynne, of Dallas, NC; Wilfred Duggan III of Florida, Kathleen and her husband Douglas Pitts of Brockton, MA; Jennifer Duggan of Marshfield, MA; and the late Darcey Duggan of Falmouth, MA. Peggy was the beloved grandmother to ten grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Peggy is also survived by her brother Thomas Folan and his wife Gail of Foxboro, MA and her sister Kathleen Garrity of Norwood, MA, as well as many nieces, nephews and dear friends.

Peggy graduated Norwood High School in 1955 and attended Saint Elizabeth’s School of Nursing thereafter; she graduated as an RN in 1958. Peggy touched many lives during her professional career as her special calling came to fruition as she helped so many newborns and struggling families as a traveling nurse on the South Shore. At a time when many individuals were retiring, Peggy specialized in SIDS and therapeutic infant massages.

Peggy enjoyed many hobbies and interests including painting, knitting and traveling. Peggy was also proficient in quilting; she owned and operated a quilting shop for many years that provided instruction and educational programs to many individuals.

Her funeral mass will be held on Friday April 22, 2016 at 10 A.M. at St. Anne’s by the Sea in Marshfield, MA. By request of the family all other services are omitted.
