Surrounded by loved ones, Ellen Madeline Balanos entered eternal life on April 17, 2016. Miss Balanos was a lifelong resident of Taunton and a member of St Jude Catholic Church. Prior to church mergers , she attended Holy Rosary. She was educated in taunton public schools. She was devoted to her family and is the daughter of the late Josephine (Pietnik) and Kostas Balanos. She is survived by two siblings, Mary Balanos and James Balanos of Taunton. After taking the civil service exam, she was employed in administrative duties. Miss Balanos enjoyed learning and sharing the city’s history; she often listened to local radio. She was skilled in knitting, sewing and cooking. She was also an avid reader. She had a sharp intelligence and quick wit. Funeral will be held at the O’Keefe-Wade Funeral Home 70 Washington Street in Taunton Monday, April 25th at 9 AM. A Mass will be held at St Jude the Apostle Church in Taunton at 10 AM. Calling hours will be held on Sunday from 2-5 PM. Interment St Joseph Cemetery in Taunton.
