Faustina Ruth (Berry) Davidheiser of Franklin, MA, passed away peacefully on Monday, April 18, 2016. She was 95 years old, and was at her home with her family.
She was the daughter of Moses and Susie (Heath) Berry, born on August 20, 1920 in the family farmhouse built by her grandfather in Gorham, New Hampshire.
Faustina Davidheiser was a resident of Franklin for the past 30 years, and formerly resided in Worcester and Cambridge in Massachusetts, and also in Pennsylvania and Arizona.
She graduated from Becker College in Worcester, and continued to pursue adult education throughout her life.
She took one unusual college course on the commuter rail while traveling to work. This innovative course made international news in Japan and received coverage in Fortune Magazine and the New York Times.
She did secretarial, clerical, and administrative work in a variety of legal, medical, and real estate offices. She was employed by MIT in the student financial aid office for 14 years, retiring at the age of 74.
Faustina learned sewing and needlecrafts as a child, and as an adult she enjoyed creative writing and a variety of arts and crafts. She was a member of the Busy Bees at the Franklin Senior Center.
She is survived by two daughters and their husbands: Glenna Richards and Leonard Leonardi of Franklin, and Nancy Clayman and Steven Clayman of Los Angeles, California. She is also survived by granddaughter Phoebe Anne Leonardi of Franklin.
She was the sister of the late Louise Ellingwood LaFlash, Dorothy Berry, and Moses “Boy” Berry.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a funeral service at the Medway Village Church, 170 Village St., Medway on Wednesday, April 20th. Calling hours begin at 5:00pm; service begins at 6:00pm.
Burial will take place at the Lary Cemetery in Gorham, New Hampshire.
