Died peacefully at home on April 17, 2016 of heart failure. Preceded in death by wife Beatrice; grandson Scott; parents Ferdinand & Rebecca Grassl (nee Fandre); brothers, Orville, James & Theodore. Survived by sons Mark (Vicki) & Paul (Jeanmarie); daughters Anne (Alan) Stepan, Mary (Jeff) Slater & Jeanne (Steve) Parsons; three grandchildren Jeffrey, Kaleb & Jordan; one sister Virginia (John) Beyer of Seattle, WA; one brother Ward of Stevens Point, WI. Bob had a strong work ethic & lead an accomplished life that began early; at 10 yrs old he was driving a milktruck for deliveries before school. He spent 10 months overseas in the Korean War before he met Bea & started his family. He wrote 26 technical manuals for naval defense equipment while working for FMC. Bob was a devout Catholic and an active member of St. Peter's Church in No. St. Paul for over 50 years. He will be greatly missed. Mass of Christian Burial Friday (4/22) 12:00 PM at CHURCH OF ST. PETER, 2600 N. Margaret St., North St. Paul. Interment St. Mary's Cemetery. Visitation Thursday 4-8 PM, with rosary at 8 PM, at SANDBERG FUNERAL HOME, 2593 E. 7th Ave., North St. Paul, & one hour prior to Mass at church.
