SHERBORN: Therese R. (Chasse) Grenier, 87, a resident of Sherborn since 1951, died Monday, April 18, 2016 at MetroWest Medical Center, Natick with her husband, Raymond and their family by her side. Ray and Therese were married for 68 years.
Therese was born on July 5, 1928 and spent her formative years in Saxonville as one of seven children of the late Donat J. and Beatrice (Hallett) Chasse. Ray and Therese moved to Sherborn, Raymond’s hometown, shortly after their marriage. Therese will be remembered as a loving wife and mother, who dedicated her life to her husband and children. She took great pride in all of them and was devoted to her family life and her home. She worked with her husband for many years in the family business they started, Grenier Plumbing and Heating.
Therese leaves her husband Raymond Grenier of Sherborn, her children Rita MacAlpine and her husband Alan of Ashland; Susan McAvoy and her husband John of Millis; Ann Nygaard and her husband Dennis of Medway and Raymond Grenier, Jr. and his wife Clare of Sherborn. Therese leaves 12 grandchildren, Kara MacAlpine and Alan MacAlpine, Jr; John McAvoy, Jr., Kathleen (McAvoy) Green and Bryan McAvoy; Lindsay Nygaard, Leanne (Nygaard) Szwaja and Eric Nygaard; Brigitte Grenier, Suzanne Grenier, Elise Grenier and Catherine Grenier and 2 great grandchildren Lauren and Alex MacAlpine. Therese also leaves a sister, Marie (Chasse) Arena of Natick and was pre-deceased by her brothers and sisters, Leo and Donald Chasse, Alice Miller and Beatrice Sinclair.
At the request of her family, there will be no funeral home visitations. Her Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, April 22, 2016 at 11:00 am at St. Theresa Parish, 35 South Main Street, Sherborn. Private family burial will be in the Grenier family lot in Pine Hill Cemetery in Sherborn.
