Michael B. Souza, age 89, of Somerset, passed away peacefully on April 18, 2016 at home surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of Leatrice (Pereira) Souza. Born in Fall River, he was the son of the late Jose B. and Maria (Pacheco) Souza. Michael was a WWII Army Veteran and a communicant of St. Francis of Assisi for many years. He enjoyed shopping with his wife at flea markets and yard sales. Prior to retirement he worked for Truesdale Clinic for over 50 years as a maintenance employee.
Along with his wife he leaves behind his children Paul M. Souza (wife Tracy) of TN and Claudia Myers (late husband Scott Myers) of RI; 2 grandchildren: Katie Souza & Adam Myers and several nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his siblings Joseph B. Souza, David B. Souza and Lorraine Archambault.
His funeral will take place from the Manuel Rogers & Sons Funeral Home 1521 N. Main St. Fall River on Thursday here at 9 A.M. followed by a Mass of St. Francis of Assisi Church at 10 A.M. Interment in St. Patrick’s Cemetery. Calling hours on Wednesday from 5-9 P.M. www.rogersfuneral.com.
