TEWKSBURY: Michael E. Cornish, age 56, a resident of Tewksbury for 23 years, formerly of Hyde Park, passed away at the Tewksbury Hospital on Friday, April 15, 2016, following a lengthy illness.
He was the beloved husband of Maureen A. (McMahon) Cornish, with whom he celebrated their 23rd wedding anniversary on February 27, 2016.
Born in Boston on March 22, 1960, he was the son of the late John R. and Mabel A. (Joy) Cornish.
Mike was raised in the Hyde Park area of Boston and graduated from Catholic Memorial High School in 1978.
Prior to his illness, he was employed for 18 years by the Boston Home Medical Company, where he worked as a service manager.
Mike enjoyed outdoor activities especially ice fishing, and hunting. In addition, he was a passionate New England Patriots Football fan.
Besides his wife Maureen, he is survived by one sister, Margaret Downing Bouvier; four brothers-in-law, Kevin McMahon and his wife Lillian, Paul McMahon and his wife Linda, Scott McMahon and his wife Deanna, and Mark McMahon and his wife Maryann. He also leaves many nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
Michael was the brother of the late John Cornish.
Calling hours are Saturday, April 23, from 10 a.m. until 11:30 a.m., at the Farmer & Dee Funeral Home, 16 Lee St., Tewksbury, followed by a prayer service to be held at the funeral home. Interment at Tewksbury Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the Tewksbury Hospital Patients Fund, 365 East St., Tewksbury, MA 01876.
