Robert E. Laferriere, 77, of Litchfield, NH died Saturday, April 16, 2016 in the Frisbee Memorial Hospital, Rochester, NH. Robert was born in Lowell, MA on March 19, 1939, a son of the late Lionel and Lillian (Theriault) Laferriere. He was a resident of Litchfield for the last five years, previously living in Meredith, NH.
Raised in Lowell, MA, Robert served in the US Air Force from 1956 to 1960. He received a BS in Accounting & Finance from Bentley College and was employed as a Program Manager with Lockheed Martin/BAE for many years. He served as the Finance Committee Chairman in Billerica, MA. As a volunteer, Robert devoted time to the Friends of Lowell High, AARP and the local VNA where he served on the Board. He also served as President of the PTO at Daly Medical School and volunteered at the United Way in Meredith. At both St. Margaret’s Church in Lowell and St. Charles Church in Meredith, Robert served as a Eucharistic Minister. He loved to travel in the US and abroad.
He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Joanne M. (Cochrane) Laferriere of Litchfield, two sons, Mark G. Laferriere and his fiancée Kimberly, Brian R. Cochrane, two daughters, Maureen A. Cragon and her husband Matthew, Kate A. Fossel, four grandchildren, Drew, Alex, Kayleigh and Molly, one brother, Maurice Laferriere and four sisters, Jacqueline Gauthier, Jeannine Dusombre, Claudette Silva and Lorraine Mellen. He was predeceased by his sister Constance Sullivan.
