Obituary

NORTH DIGHTON – Mary E. (Evangelho) Corey of North Dighton, wife of the late William H. Corey, died at Morton Hospital on April 16, 2016.
She was 90 years old.
Born in Dighton, she was the daughter of the late Manuel and Rosa (Coelho) Evangelho.
Raised and educated in the Dighton area, Mary was a 1944 graduate of the former Dighton High School.
She was a homemaker for most of her adult life.
A communicant of North Dighton’s St. Nicholas of Myra Church, she was a member of the Women’s Guild and also the Dighton Seniors.
She enjoyed yard work, gardening, and Bingo.
Mary especially enjoyed spending time with her family.
Survivors include two sons, William J. Corey and his wife Susan of Bourne and Robert M. Corey and his wife Kimberly of North Dighton; three daughters, Elizabeth A. Paul and her husband Butch of Somerset, Susan M. Taylor of Rehoboth and Katherine M. Steidinger and her husband John of Port Orange, FL; two sisters, Rose Silva of North Dighton and Vivian Martin of Longwood, FL; eight grandchildren, Christopher, Michael, B.J., Meghan, Joey, Shannon, Nicole and Morgan; a great grandchild, Lily; and several nieces and nephews.
She was also the sister of the late Manuel and John Evangelho, and the mother-in-law of the late Michael Taylor.
Her funeral will be held from the Silva Funeral Home, 80 Broadway, Taunton on Thursday, April 21st at 8:30 a.m. followed by a funeral mass at St. Nicholas of Myra Church at 10 a.m.
Burial will be at St. Joseph Cemetery in Taunton.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
The family will be receiving visitors from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. prior to the funeral mass.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
