Carolyn M. (Mills) Rose, 78, of New Bedford passed away on Saturday April 16, 2016 at home surrounded by her loving family.
Born in Rockland, Maine, the daughter of the late Basil and Phyllis (Flecher) Mills, she lived in New Bedford for most of her life.
Carolyn enjoyed going to Foxwoods, watching the Boston Red Sox, and doing puzzles. She especially loved spending time with her family.
She is survived by four children, James Mason, III, Barbara Westgate, Thelma Mason, and Victoria Rose-Rego and her husband Wayne, all of New Bedford; her siblings, Elaine Wood of New Bedford, Stuart Mills of Mattapoisett, and Brad Mills of Fairhaven; 18 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her fiancé, Joseph Bergeron, her daughters, Violet Farland, Carol Mason, Anna Mason, and Stacy Lee Rose, her brother, James Mills, and her stepmother, Virginia (Gomes) Mills.
Her Funeral Service will be held on Thursday at 11 AM at the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford. Burial will follow in Rural Cemetery. Visiting hours will be on Wednesday from 4-8 PM. For directions and guestbook, please visit www.saundersdwyer.com.
