Rhonda Marie Revels Poppell, 58, of Tifton passed away Saturday, April 16, 2016, at her residence. Her funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, April 18, 2016, at Oak Grove Baptist Church in Kelltown with the Rev. Kevin Harris officiating. Mrs. Poppell will be laid to rest at Oak Ridge Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday, April 17, 2016, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals. Mrs. Poppell will be placed in the church one hour prior to the service.
Mike Moore, Andy Williams, Ken Marchant, Randy Paulk, James Montgomery and Ricky Benson will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be the staff of Omega Elementary School.
Born May 30, 1957 in Tifton, Mrs. Poppell was the daughter of the late Edwin Julius Revels, Sr. and Helen Conger Revels. She graduated from Tift County High School and was a paraprofessional at Omega Elementary School.
Mrs. Poppell is survived by her husband, Stephen Poppell of Tifton; a son and daughter-in-law, Jason and Valerie Poppell; her grandson, Jaxson Poppell; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Ed and Tina T. Revels of Adel and their children, Carrie and Brock Revels and Terry Revels and his children, Jade Matthews (Zach) and Tyler Revels; her mother-in-law, Betty Poppell of Tallahassee, Florida; her sister-in-law, Vickie Malloy and husband Harold and their children Austin and Maghan Malloy and Brenda Erb and husband John and their daughter, Peyton Erb.
