Barbara L. (Thornhill) Bernier, 85, of New Bedford died April 7, 2016 peacefully at St. Luke's Hospital.
She was the wife of the late Richard F. Bernier.
Born in New Bedford, the daughter of the late Fred W. and Anna G. (Bennett) Thornhill, she lived in New Bedford all of her life.
She was a member of the South Baptist Church.
Mrs. Bernier was formerly employed by Universal Industries.
She was a member of the Washington Club.
Survivors include her son, Richard Bernier and his wife Elizabeth of New Bedford; 2 grandchildren, Bradford Bernier and Jennifer Bernier; 2 great-grandchildren, Kayla Bernier and Brendyn Bernier; and longtime friend, John Marinelli.
She was the sister of the late Anna Jean Percival and Fred Thornhill, Jr.
