NEW BEDFORD – Marcelo Rocha, age 89, passed away on Friday, April 15, 2016 at St. Luke’s Hospital. He was the loving husband of the late Elvira Ourique (Correia) Rocha and the son of the late Jose and Maria (Ludevina) Fernandes.
Born in Terceira, Azores, he came to this country over 40 years ago and worked for AFC Cables for several years until his retirement.
He is survived by 5 children: Maria DaSilva of New Bedford, Elvira Lopes of Central Falls, RI, Lucia DaSilva of Falmouth, Jacinta Funderburk of Houston, TX and Rosa Rocha-Saraiva of New Bedford; as well as 12 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.
Marcelo was predeceased by his son, Jose Fernandes.
In accordance with his wishes, Mr. Rocha will be cremated. Arrangements placed in the care of Perry Funeral Home 111 Dartmouth St. New Bedford, Ma 02740.
