Obituary

Glenn Stanley Hardy, 78, of Tifton passed away Thursday, April 14, 2016, at Golden Living Center in Tifton. His funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, April 17, 2016, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals with the Rev. Greg Hester and the Rev. Joseph Weyel officiating. Mr. Hardy will be laid to rest at Omega Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday, April 16, 2016, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.

Mr. Hardy’s grandchildren, Mason Hardy, Drew Hardy, Sean Hardy, Cody Hardy, Mallory Hardy, Ben Hardy, Mary Claire Hardy and Shannon Hardy will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Mr. Hardy’s nieces and nephews.

Born October 11, 1937 in Omega, Mr. Hardy was the son of the late Charlie Amos Hardy and Jessie Tedder Hardy. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Raiford Allen Hardy, who died in 2015; and his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Grady Thomas Bryan, Sr. and Jewel Inez Bryan. He was retired from HeatCraft and had also worked at J. P. Stevens. He was also a veteran of the United States Army.

Mr. Hardy is survived by his wife, Christine Bryan Hardy of Tifton; three sons and daughters-in-law, Michael and Cindy Hardy of Richmond Hill, Scott and Dawn Hardy of Berrien County and David Hardy and partner Dawn Thompson of Chula; his siblings and their spouses, Maxine and Johnny Hammond of Land O Lakes, Florida, Charles Neal and Ruth Hardy of Ozark, Alabama, Tommie Ann Leamon of Crossville, Tennessee, Carl Hardy of Biloxi, Mississippi, C. A. and Kay Hardy of Griffin, Billy and May Kimbrough of Tifton, Shelvia Jean and Edward Taylor of Panama City Beach, Florida and Richard and Gloria Jean Hardy of Omega; sister-in-law, Betty Hardy, widow of Raiford Allen Hardy; eight grandchildren, Mason Hardy, Mallory Hardy, Drew Hardy, Cody Hardy, Sean Hardy, Shannon Hardy, Ben Hardy and Mary Claire Hardy; two great-grandchildren, Caiden Hardy and Sadie Hardy; numerous sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law; and his many beloved nieces and nephews.

Flowers will be accepted or memorial gifts may be made to the American Diabetes Association, 5105 Paulsen Street, Savannah, GA 31405.
