BAR MILLS- Virginia Althea Turgeon, age 85, of Towle St., passed away on April 14, 2016 at the Gosnell Memorial Hospice House.
She was born in Buxton on Feb. 20, 1931, the daughter of the late Raymond and Marie (Swanson) Dunnell.
After graduating from Buxton schools, Virginia went on to raise her family with her husband Rowland.
She enjoyed crafts, cooking, traveling with her husband, camping, and was involved with the Dorcas Society many years ago.
She is predeceased by her beloved husband Rowland Turgeon Sr. in 2015.
Virginia is survived by her children- Rowland Jr. and his wife Tammy of Bar Mills; Doreen Hunt and her husband Edward of Cape Elizabeth; Richard Turgeon and his partner Kelly of Waterboro; and Debra Hanson and her husband Lenny of Baileyville, ME; nine grandchildren; and eleven great grandchildren.
A memorial service to celebrate both Virginia and Rowland Sr's lives will be held on Saturday, April 23 at 10 AM at the Chad E. Poitras Cremation and Funeral Service Chapel, 498 Long Plains Road (Rt. 22) in Buxton. Interment will follow at South Buxton Cemetery. Afterward, everyone is welcome to return to the funeral home for a reception and time of sharing memories.
