Michelle D. Kyte, R.N.
Retired Greater Lowell Area Nurse
Michelle D. (McDermott) Kyte, R.N., a longtime Lowell resident, formerly of Tewksbury, unexpectedly passed away at home, on Monday, April 11, 2016.
She was the beloved wife of 30 years to David J. Kyte.
Born in Lowell, she was the daughter of the late Gerald J. and Dorothy M. (Lynch) McDermott.
Michelle was raised in Tewksbury. She attended the former St. William’s Parochial School, and graduated from Keith Hall. She continued her education at the former University of Lowell (now U.Mass-Lowell), where she received her B.S. Degree in Nursing.
Michelle worked as a nurse, including emergency and operating room for many years at Lowell General, Lahey Clinic Medical Center in Burlington, New England Baptist and Tewksbury Hospital.
In earlier years, she enjoyed horse-back riding on her horses Cinnamon and Max and competed in area equestrian events. In addition, Michelle enjoyed a passion for sewing (dress making), reading, painting, drawing, guitar, and caring for her pets.
Besides her husband, she is survived by two daughters, Bridget and Lindsey both of Sterling; her sister Geraldine(McDermott) Tracy of Lowell and numerous extended family members.
At the request of the family, funeral services will be held privately. Donations in Michelle’s memory may be made to the M.S.P.C.A-Nevins Farm, 400 Broadway Methuen, MA 01844. Arrangements entrusted to Farmer & Dee Funeral Home, Tewksbury.
