Thomas G. Kalantzis, 65, of Eastham died expectantly Wednesday, April 13, 2016 at Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston. He was the husband of Constance (Grossi) Kalantzis.
Born and educated in Brooklyn, New York, he was the son of the late George and Julia (Tstsilones) Kalantzis. Mr. Kalantzis was a Vietnam US Navy veteran.
He retired after working 35 years for the New York City Carpenters Union. As Shop Steward for the union at Ground Zero, he coordinated OSHA Safety requirements for 911 rescue personnel, thereby saving thousands of lives.
He and his wife moved to Cape Cod 11 years ago. In Eastham, he volunteered for the Eastham Council On Aging.
In addition to his wife of 44 years, sons Thomas Kalantzis of Staten Island, New York and Anthony Kalantzis of Eastham survive him. He also leaves a sister, Marie Kalantzis of Harwich.
