Eleanor H. Harlor, 72

Eleanor H. “Hedy” (Haran) Harlor, age 72, of South Yarmouth, formerly of North Easton, passed away on Thursday, April 14, 2016, in the comfort of her home, surrounded by her loving family, following a four month illness with Cancer. She was the beloved wife of the late Jon E. Harlor who died on June 8, 2013.
Born in Boston, MA on January 9, 1944, she was a loving daughter of the late Paul T. and Sophie A. (Pucz) Haran.
Hedy grew up in Quincy, Dorchester and Milton. She was a graduate of Gate of Heaven High School in South Boston, and continued her education; graduating with a bachelors degree in education at the Boston State Teachers College.
Prior to retiring, Mrs. Harlor was a highly respected teacher at the Murphy School in Boston. She had made her home in South Yarmouth for the past 7 years and was a former longtime resident of North Easton.
Hedy had a love affair with Cape Cod where her perfect day consisted of sitting on the beach with her friends. She also volunteered for the Meals on Wheels program and especially enjoyed the company of all her friends at the “Old Sea Dog” restaurant where she had the knack for making everyone laugh.
She was the dear sister of Paul P. Haran, Walter J. Haran, Sr. and his wife Mary Ann, Maureen Johnson and her husband John, and Kathy Haran Kovacs and her late husband Csaba. She was the loving aunt of Brenda Cedeno, Katherine Rudnisky, Brian Johnson, Paul Johnson, Walter Haran, Jr., William Haran and Robert Haran.
Her funeral Mass, to which relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend, will be celebrated on Thursday, April 21st at 11:00 A.M. in St. Mary’s Church, 330 Pratt St. (Route 106) Mansfield. Burial will follow at the Spring Brook Cemetery in Mansfield,
Visitation will be held prior to the services on Thursday morning from 9:00-10:30 A.M. at the Sherman & Jackson Funeral Home, 55 North Main St., Mansfield.
