Obituary

John B. Perroni, 89 of Manchester, NH died Monday April 11, 2016 at the Villa Crest Nursing and Retirement Home in Manchester. John was born in Salem, MA on June 24, 1926, the son of the late Dominick and Sara (Criscenti) Perroni. He had resided for many years in Derry and Wakefield, NH before moving to Manchester and Delray Beach, Florida several years ago. John was a graduate of Salem High School, Salem, MA and later graduated from Boston College in 1950. He was a combat veteran and Bronze Star recipient while serving with the US Army during WWII in Germany. John was the owner of JoLee Last Co. in Manchester. He retired from the NH Department of Safety as Supervisor of Driver Licensing after a long second career with the State. John very much enjoyed attending his children’s and grand children’s activities, including lacrosse and football games. John was a loving husband, wonderful father, extraordinary grandfather and a loyal friend. He will be dearly missed.
John is survived by his wife of 65 years, Silvia (Monaco) Perroni of Manchester, one daughter, Emily Napoli and her husband Bob of Derry, three sons, Colonel USAF (Ret) Jack Perroni and his wife Mary of Colorado Springs, CO, Vincent Perroni and his wife Linda of Manchester, and Peter “P.J.” Perroni and his partner, Mavis Robinson of Goffstown, NH and Bourne, MA, 10 grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, one sister, Nancy Perroni, of Salem, MA, a sister-in-law, Mary Monaco, of Sharon Connecticut, a daughter-in-law, Mae Warren of Newburyport, MA and his cousin, John B. Perroni, of Salem, MA. Among numerous other friends, John was survived by his long-time paisans Lou D’Allesandro and Nino Rizzotti. He was predeceased by his son Dominic and his sister Cosima Takis.
Following cremation, A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Monday May 16, 2016 at 10:00am in St. Thomas Aquinas Church, 26 Crystal Ave., Derry. Burial with military honors will be held at a later date in the VA National Cemetery, Bourne, MA. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association MA/NH Chapter, 480 Pleasant St., Watertown, MA 02472.
