Shirley Marie Cox Hickman, 78, of Tifton passed away Sunday, April 10, 2016, at Jacksonville Memorial Hospital in Jacksonville, Florida. A memorial service will be held for Mrs. Hickman at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, April 23, 2016, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals. Ms. Hickman will be laid to rest at a later date. The family will receive friends Saturday, April 23, 2016, immediately following the service in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.
Born April 10, 1938, Mrs. Hickman was the daughter of the late Jesse D. Cox and Sallie Mae Fogarty Cox. She was also preceded in death by her first husband, Walter Culpepper; her second husband, Lewis Hickman; and a son, Kenneth Johns. She was a homemaker and of the Church of God faith. She had been a resident at Golden Living Center in Tifton for the past three years.
Mrs. Hickman is survived by two sons, Willie Culpepper and Ronnie Culpepper, both of Tifton; a daughter and son-in-law, Suzy and Rob Walters of Jacksonville, Florida; a daughter-in-law, Doris Kitchens Johns of Tifton; a sister, Mary Alice White of Brookfield; five grandchildren, Chris Johns, Jason Culpepper and wife Haley, Stacey Culpepper, Lacey Culpepper and Taylor Culpepper; four great-grandchildren, Reagan, Kaden, Kenny and Brooklyn; and several nieces and nephews.
