Marcella L. (Grover) Rockhill December 26, 1924 to April 13, 2016 “Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of his saints…” Psalm 116:15 Marcella L. (Grover) Rockhill, 91, of Anderson was welcomed into the presence of the Lord on Wednesday, April 13, 2016, at Miller’s Merry Manor nursing home in Chesterfield. The love and care she received there for the past six years was a great comfort to her and her family. Born in Richland County, Wisconsin to Ervin and Faith (Gibeaut) Grover, Marcella graduated from Reedsburg High School, attended Anderson University, was a pastor’s wife and ordained in the Church of God. From 1950 to 1980, she and her husband Everell pastored various churches in North Dakota and Wisconsin, and worked at Hope Hill Children’s Home in Kentucky before moving to Anderson, where they were active at Park Place Church of God. Marcella worked in the finishing department of Warner Press for 10 years and upon retirement was a greeter at Rozelle-Johnson Funeral Service. Marcella was a gentle, kind woman who loved the Lord, her family, and friends well. She lived a life of contentment, had a servant’s heart, and was a great example of hospitality and serving others. She is survived by her five children, Ervin (Lois) Rockhill of Anderson; Marvin (Ann) Rockhill of Fishers, IN; Darrell (Sue) Rockhill of Racine, WI; Naomi (Roger) Keith of Pharr, TX; and Paulette (Pete) Jackson of Atlanta, GA; 15 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren and 3 great, great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, and by her husband, Everell, who died in January, 1990. A memorial service will be held at Park Place Church of God, 501 College Drive; Anderson, IN on Monday, April 18, 2016, at 3:00pm, with a 2-hr visitation prior in the Bessie Byrum Lounge.
