Laconia----Patricia "Pat" Chapman was escorted by the angels to her Heavenly home on Saturday April 9th, 2016. Her family who loved her dearly was by her side throughout her brief illness. Pat was born Patricia Swindells on June 8, 1939 in Birmingham England. She is the eldest of four daughters born to the late William Swindells and Mary Duff Swindells.
Pat's greatest joy in her life, and always her number one priority, was her family. She dedicated her life to caring for and spending time with her daughter Clare and son Chris, their spouses Michael Persson and Jill Chapman, and her four grandchildren, Alana and Kate Persson, and Liam and Adrian Chapman.
Pat always had wonderful stories to share, whether they be of her childhood years in England, or early adult years travelling the world and bringing up her young family. In 1980 Pat chose to settle in Laconia, NH. She loved the beauty of the Lakes Region and felt as a single Mom it was the perfect place for her children to grow up. She loved to spend her days enjoying the simple pleasures of life, such as attending a concert at Rotary Park, going to the Nubble Light House in Maine or riding the Mount Washington in the summer.
Pat was beautiful inside and out. She helped many others in the Lakes Region to find this beauty through her work as a makeup artist, enjoying her days working at O'Shea's, Steinbeck's and Cherry & Webb. In her later years, she enjoyed working at Carter's children's store.
Pat was loving, kind, witty and had a smile and laugh that could light up any room. She will be greatly missed.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Andre Bessette Parish - St. Joseph's Church, 30 Church St. Laconia at 10 AM on Saturday, April 16th, 2016.
A Celebration of Life Service will follow immediately after at the Belknap Mill, 25 Beacon St E, Laconia from 11-2 p.m.
In lieu of flowers for those who wish, the family suggests that Memorial donations be made to Lakes Region Scholarship Foundation, 14 Country Club Rd. Gilford, NH 03249 or Stand up Laconia, c/o Laconia High School, 345 Union Ave. Laconia, NH 03246.
