Rosanna Lee Sands, 56 of Haverhill, formally of Lawrence, passed away peacefully on April 6, 2016 at home. She was the beloved mother to Justin Sands and his wife Melissa of Methuen, Mukhlis Waahid and his wife Aysha Ead of Rhode Island, and Marinah Santiago and her fiancé Felix Rodriguez of Lawrence. She was also the grandmother of Kiannah Morales, Yunus & Ameenah Waahid, and Jazmin and Gavin Sands.
She is survived by sisters Maria Whitcomb of Colorado, Carla Sands of Lawrence, Paula Sands of Kansas, Regina Sands of Kansas, Brother Freeman Sands of Florida and Christopher Sands of Georgia. As well as several nieces and nephews. She also loved her A.A. Family.
Rosanna loved the beach, she lived through painting and playing beautiful music on the piano. She was an amazingly strong woman, who took pride in her ability to use her life experiences, the good and the bad, to help others succeed, both in professional and personal life.
Rosanna received her associates degree at Northern Essex, her Bachelor’s degree at Lesley University and her Master’s in Education from Cambridge College, she was in the process of attaining her Ph.D.
During this sad time our mother would want us to celebrate her life and the joy she brought to so many. Please join us in this celebration of life on Saturday, April 16, 2016. It will be held @ 71 Duckett Ave. Lawrence, Ma., in the Boys & Girls club building. Visiting hours will be from 4pm-8:30pm.
