WAYLAND: Francis L. “Fran” Sherman, 74, died peacefully on Monday, April 11, 2016 following a period of declining health.
He was born in Concord on December 3, 1941 the son of the late Leslie E. Sherman and Dorothy A. (Walker) Sherman.
Fran is survived by his devoted brother, Norman R. Sherman and his companion Sandy Lindbohm Stanley both of Wayland. He was the father of Deborah Sherman of Framingham. Also survived by his loyal friends Pete Franty and Liz Luthin of Sudbury and his former wife Judith M. Flaherty Sherman of Wayland.
Fran has been a lifelong resident of Wayland and graduated from Waltham Trade School. He was associated in the freight department of Polaroid in Waltham for over 16 years and retired as a driver with Busy Bee Transportation in Framingham.
Fran enjoyed bowling and fishing and was a devoted fan of the New England Patriots and the Boston Red Sox. He loved to spend time with his brother Norm and in the last few years, looked forward to outings with him and Sandy. He had a wide circle of friends within the Wayland and Framingham area and loved to visit the Villa and “The Chat” in Wayland. Fran will be fondly missed by his family and friends.
Memorial visitations will be held on Friday, April 15, 2016 from 10:00 to 11:00 am followed by his funeral service at 11:00 at the John C. Bryant Funeral Home, 56 Pemberton Road (Off Rte 30), Wayland.
Private interment will be held at the Sherman family lot in North Cemetery in Wayland.
