Maria Antonia "Etta" Archetto, 89, of Cranston, passed away April 10, 2016 at Rhode Island Hospital. She was the beloved wife of Henry W. Archetto for 65 years.
Born in Cranston, she was the daughter of the late Domenico Antonio Archetto and Carolina Lanni Archetto. Mrs. Archetto was employed by the Trifari Jewelry Company in Providence. She was a communicant of St. Mary's Church, Cranston, where she was member of the Regina Coeli Society and where she taught religious education classes in the 1960s. Mrs. Archetto enjoyed flower gardening, cooking, and spending time at her summer cottage in Jamestown.
Besides her husband, she is survived by her children, Maria Anne Archetto, Ph.D. and her husband Ralph Ellis Hickman, Jr; Linda Carol Archetto, Michael Anthony Archetto and his wife Gail; and Paul Henry Archetto, Cranston City Councilman, grandson Glenn Archetto and his wife Hollie, and great-granddaughter Ava. She is survived by her brother Vincent James Archetto and his wife Marie; and her sister Alice Capuano and her husband Anthony. She was the sister of the late Frank Archetto, Philip Archetto, Michael Archetto, and Alfred Archetto.
Her funeral will be held Friday at 9:30 am from the Anderson-Winfield Funeral Home, Rt 44 at Greenville Common, Greenville. Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00am in St. Mary’s Church, 1525 Cranston Street, Cranston, RI 02920. Burial will follow in St. Ann’s Cemetery, Cranston. Visitation Thursday from 4-8pm. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to St. Mary’s Church.
