NEW BEDFORD – Lidia M. Larguinho, age 57, passed away on Monday, April 11, 2016 at St. Luke’s Hospital. She was the loving wife of Antonio M. Larguinho and the daughter of the late Tome and Jesuina (Garcia) da Fonte.
Born in Pico, Azores, Lidia came to this country in 1961 and dedicated her life to upbringing of her family.
She is survived by her husband, Antonio M. Larguinho of New Bedford, 2 children: Tiffany Ann Larguinho and Fernando Jose Larguinho and his wife, Ashley, all of New Bedford; 2 grandsons: Gavin L. Francoeur-Larguinho, and his mother Raven Francoeur, and Landon Larguinho; siblings: Maria da Fonte of Fairhaven, Manuel da Fonte of Taunton and John da Fonte of New Bedford; as well as several nieces and nephews.
Her funeral will be Friday beginning in the funeral home at 9:30 A.M. with a Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church at 10:30 A.M. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery. Visiting hours will be Thursday evening from 5 – 8 P.M. Flowers are accepted or donations can be made in her memory to The American Kidney Foundation.
